New Features for Verification Management in Google Webmaster Tools

These days, whether businesses be online or otherwise, they often be likely to have a partnership, where more than one individual is working. In situations like these, distributing online resources and tools can be quite tricky. Imagine that you have to share your website's passwords with your partner(s). Now the problem immediately arises here, because you simply can't trust anyone with a password. But luckily, Google has made it amazingly easy for individuals to share vital resources and tools between partners, such as website verifications in Google Webmaster Tools. Now some latest features have been introduced by Google for its management of multiple users feature.

Verification Details

Now, you can view the verification methods for all the verified owners of your website, so that you can easily track that who you add, and who somehow tricked you and then got in. You can easily access all this information. Simply log in your Google Webmaster Tools account, and click your site. Now, from the Configuration menu, click on Users.

Google Webmaster Tools configuration

Then you will see a Manage Site Owners just at the top-right. Click this and it will take you to the verification information page.
Manage site owners

Now you will be able to see all the verified owner, and the verification methods they have used. To find out more, click the verification details next to each user.

verified owners

Unverifying an Owner

With the new features introduced, you can now no-longer un-verify an owner of your website if the method(s) with which they were verified still exists. For instance, if the owner was verified through meta tags, then Google Webmaster Tools will give you an error, and you won't let you un-verify the owner until the meta tag is there.

CNAME Verification

In order to support a large number of DNS providers, CNAME verification strings have now been shortened. Actually some DNS providers restrict the number of characters used for a record, as a result of which many users couldn't use this verification method. But now, with short strings, users will finally be able to use this method. And the best part is that the existing strings won't cange, and all the old ones will work just fine.

Any Questions?

Have any more Questions? Please don't hesitate to ask. You know I love it when you ask queries. Peace and blessings :)

6 Actions Taken against Blogs that are Flagged

Some days ago, we posted all the things that are against Google's policy. And if you do something against the guidelines, it will result in your blog getting deleted. But sometimes people get lucky and their blog doesn't get deleted but at least gets flagged by people reporting your blog for violation. Google has a flag queue where you blog enters after getting flagged. Then a guy reviews those blogs and if everything is OK then they let that blog go. Otherwise, action will be taken by Google against the blog simply to maintain the quality and safety of Blogger, and to ensure that nothing of that sort happens again in the future.

Google doesn't send the admin of the blog an email informing them about the situation. Then how can you tell if your blog has been penalized? Well you can tell when the following things below happens to your blog, as these are the actions that are taken against blogs found guilty of violation(s)

Actions Taken against Flagged Blogs

Disabled Blogger account - If you have been copying content, then you might end up getting your blog deleted.

Blog becomes visible only to the author - Only you will now be able to see your blog. If your blog will have multiple authors, it will also be only visible to them. And no one else will be able to see or search your blog.

Deletion of offending content - Google will remove all the content from your blog that is violating its policies. As long as you have no such content, your safe. And honestly speaking, this is actually the least thing that could happen to your blog.

Disabled Google account - OK, things are now getting serious. If your violation is serious, then Google won't just disable your Blogger account. Your entire account, with all the associated profiles and Google products will then be deleted!

Mature content interstitial - If you host adult content on your blog, then it will be placed behind a 'mature content interstitial'. After this your site will no longer appear in Google's safe search and will only appear to users who have family filter turned off. This will effectively reduce your traffic.

Reporting to law enforcement - OK, now the things are getting pretty real, so I guess its better to snap out of it. If you're involved in promoting illegal activities, then you might get reported to local authorities or law enforcement agencies. So now would be a good time to pack your bags and run away.

How to report a violation?

These harsh steps, as some may sound, are necessary to take only for the safety of Blogger network. If you see someone actually violating Google's guidelines, then please do not hesitate to report that thing to Google. Please help everyone to make the internet a better place by reporting violators.

I will write some posts on how to report a particular blog to Google. Make sure you don't miss any, so subscribe now in order to be informed via Email whenever a new tutorial part is published.

Peace and blessings :)

Note: We Have Moved Updates To Google+ Fan Page and Made a New Community

Our New Google+ Page
Whenever it comes towards promoting something, no one can simply ignore social media. For businesses, websites and blogs, social media accounts and pages play a very important role in bringing sponsors and traffic. But as all that, it isn't easy socializing with people. It really requires a lot of effort and a lot of man hours and you have to put all that together and need to maintain a presence on Social Media. And nowadays, this has become even more harder because of the so many platforms that have developed. We weren't being able to communicate with you properly through my profile which was used to post all the updates and posts but we have finally made two new, separate  places. A Fan Page on Google+ and a Community on Google+ to keep all of you guys updated with each and every post and discuss with you all your problems.

For many reasons and popular demand, we have now created a Google+ page. Now all of you can easily get all the updates straight on your homepage!

And you can do all this once you have become a member of our Google+ Community. It is very easy and hardly takes 30 seconds. You can do it with the click of a button. To become a member, click the button below,

It is the latest social network, because it has only been around for a few months. It won't be wrong to say that the birth of Google+ has started a new social era and increased the competition as being only a few months old, it has introduced many powerful features. Also it has forced and inspired a lot of other social networks to implement changes. For instance, Facebook had no list option nor the Timeline before this and again when Google+ has made changes, Facebook again changed its timeline a lot.

Secondly, Google Plus helps people to easily connect to each other. It has simple, powerful features such as circles etc. and has a very efficient and powerful privacy module also. Google+ also proves to be useful while promotion of businesses.

Feedburner Feed Count Goes Zero Again - API Error! March 21, 2013

UPDATE: After 3 days the problem has been resolved by Google and now everything is working fine.

FeedCount goes zero again!
The main site of feedburner and their FeedCount chicklet is displaying zero subscribers for everyone since 18 March 2013. This error has occurred two times before, first on Dec 3, 2011 and then 9 months later on Sep 25, 2012. I have just seen it right now. I investigated a lot about this error but neither found any post nor any news from Google so I decided to write a post on it. Not only the chicklet but the problem also exists when you check the Stats Dashboard in Feedburner. When you log into your account and go to the dashboard, it will also show zero "0" subscribers with no (zero) reachability.

The bad new is that 3 days have passed and the developers at Google haven't even informed everyone about this error in feedburner count chicklet and dashboard stats and still there is no update from them.

This same problem had occurred two times back in the year 2011 on March 13th and in 2012 on September 25th. It took then almost six days to resolve the error the first time. This is what they said:

Thursday, March 17, 2011
Issue: We have been encountering difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing March 13th and 16th, 2011. We are currently working to resolve the issue.
Update (8:00am PST 19-Mar): Stats production issues have been resolved and both of the missing days restored.

Then on the second issue this is what they replied,

Friday, September 21, 2012
Issue: We have been encountering difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing Sept 19th and 20th, 2012. We are currently working to resolve the issue.

What Should you now do?

Don't panic! You haven't lost your hard earned loyal Subscribers. Feedburner is just having a problem in reporting them to you. Due to some reasons, technical errors such as these are quite obvious for large databases just like Feedburner. But it is a good idea to Backup you Feedburner Subscribers List. Hopefully it will take some days to resolve the error.

I would advise all of you guys to remove the Count Widget temporarily just to avoid leaving a negative impression on new visitors and you can again add it when the issue is resolved. Otherwise it will discourage readers from subscribing because visitors nowadays mostly judge a blog's reputation by its readership.

Was this info Helpful?

Many of our readers were worried their subscribers so I hope this post will make things clear. But even still your confused, then you are welcomed to post any query.
Peace be upon all of you :)

11 Activities That will Cause Your Blogger Blog to be Deleted

Google is watching you
Every second, millions of blogs add a very vast inventory of knowledge to the world wide web. All these blogs run on one platform i.e, Blogger. Blogger is owned by Google which is a free platform designed for self-expression, communication and freedom of speech for the people. This makes Blogger the most popular blogging platform in the whole world. But giving the freedom of speech, Google Blogger also has to keep its reputation, quality and safety in the eyes of its users. It has given its quality guidelines and whenever a blogger violates Google's quality guidelines, then Google will take any type of action he wants, against the blogger and his blog to protect its users. A common thing done by Google is simply delete the blog. Many people asked me why their blogs get deleted even when they haven't done anything wrong. I always answer them with one thing i.e, "There must be something that you have done, and it had forced Google to do this" Also one of my reader asked to post any possible reasons. So in this post, we will discuss all the things that are against Google's policies and what you should do to avoid them to stay safe.

11 Things to Avoid in Blogger Blogs

1. Violence

Promoting or spreading any kind of violence on your blog is not allowed by Google because it would not be suitable to people especially kids who can be easily affected. Also it is not allowed by Google to spread or promote any kind of violence against a specific group because it comes under racism, and also because Google is used all over the world and it could effect Google's traffic as it might get banned by some groups if it promotes racism.

2. Gore/Death

Google doesn't allow anyone to put up images, videos or any type of other content that contain gore/death because that can be very disturbing to a lot of people. For example, you are not allowed to show a horrific accident resulting in death, or someone getting viciously killed by a gun.

3. Copyrighted Material

Would you like it if someone copies your content and hard work and then gets away with it? No you won't and no one ever does! That's why to keep its users, Google has developed a very effective system of controlling this problem as much as it can. Google lowers the rank of copyright violating  and suspends their Google Adsense for that blog. And if you still keep copying, your blog will be deleted. Be aware!

4. Hate Speech

Legally being a crime, hate speech is not tolerated at all by Google. Even though it is very common on the internet, Hate speech or racism against any religion or a certain group is also not appreciated Google and never will be. Even being very common on the internet, Hate speech is not appreciated by Google at all and it never will be. And promoting hate against a certain group is also legally a crime, so therefore is also not also tolerated by Google.

5. Adult content

Google always wants to keep it family safe especially for children. Google has also never allowed anyone to make money off any adult content. Also Google has set up some very strict laws against adult content and if bloggers who promote adult content don't mark their blogs as 'adult' from Blogger Settings, you really run the risk of getting it deleted.

6. Impersonation

Pretending to be someone else or literally stealing someone's identity is not only a cyber crime but also a real crime punishable by a fine or by imprisonment. Which is why it is also not tolerated by Google.

7. Illegal Activities

Blogging about any dangerous or illegal activity. Blogger never allows this kind of content on its blogs. And if you are involved in a serious illegal case, then not only your blog and account will be deleted but you may really get yourself reported to the authorities by Google.

8. Malware

No one would like it if their new computer gets infected with viruses and becomes slow. It is something which no one will appreciate. That is why Google has always forever planed to keep its systems malware free. Google has strictly forbidden any type of malware on Blogger. So if you are spreading malware or impact your readers with any type of malicious code, then you run the risk of getting banned by Blogger.

9. Child Safety

Google has already said that it has 'zero tolerance' when it actually comes to producing content that harm children. It is strictly forbidden to produce content like child pornography and pedophilia which might manipulate little children and Google will immediately terminate the account of the person who is promoting such stuff.

10. Spam

Spam is a thing which isn't appreciated by any search engine. Google is always trying to weed out spam from its roots! That's why it spends a lot of money to roll out new algorithmic updates almost regularly, and will delete the blog which spams.

11. Violating Privacy

Now one will like it if you will post their confidential details online without their express permission. Google     also has a strict policy against publishing other people's private information like phone numbers, private information and other contact information and you must avoid these in Blogger blogs.

Conclusion

Always try to avoid these type of activities and try to stay safe. And also remember! Whenever in doubt, always ask for help. We're always here to help :)

Important cPanel Settings For Beginner Webmasters

cPanel
Once you migrate to your own custom domain or buy a new domain, your hosting company will most likely provide you with a pre-installed cPanel software on the domain mostly for your ease. Because the most popular web hosting software or  platform nowadays is cPanel. In fact now, cPanel has become the industry standard for mostly web hosting companies. For anyone who is acquainted with web hosting, he would know how important such a software can prove to be. cPanel is a powerful web hosting software that puts a lot of features and tools at a guy's finger tips, allowing the webmaster to completely stop worrying about the management and concentrate more on the domain. But for the beginners, especially for those who neither have any kind of knowledge about web hosting nor any experience, the cPanel could be a very confusing and challenging environment. So for those people, to ensure that their domain is safe and secure, here are some of the basic settings.

Create a Strong Password

A very obvious but the most important thing that you should do after assigning a cPanel access is to set up a very strong password almost as long as 8 characters. This is only because of the numerous complains from people regarding their cPanels getting hacked and mostly reasons are weak or default passwords that have never been changed! Once a webmaster loses access to his cPanel, it's really very hard to again get access to it. The webmaster will then have to contact the company and then ask for a retrieval. Not only that but the hacker can also get the billing details, and steal all information including the credit card number for future use so that he can easily request password resets with the hosting company.
Create strong password
To save yourself from these terrible hacks, change all of the default passwords assigned for things like cPanel, E-mail, billing account login, and so on with strong passwords to ensure the security of your account. The password for your cPanel can be easily changed from Preferences >> Change Password.

Server Interface

Just like any guy checks out specifications for his new computer, it's also very important that you check out the specs for the new web server you have got and where your site is hosted. You can easily see all the information that you need to know on the left sidebar of your cPanel. For the account information and other statistics, you might need to scroll down a bit. Always keep a close eye on all these statistics because you would never want to exhaust any limit. From here you can easily check all the things, from CPU and memory usage to all the graphs to see site load time, and more.

Get rid of any Kind of Spam

The time will come when your domain will become popular, appreciated by a lot of people and well-known, you will then start getting tons of spam emails everyday from unknown and fake email addresses or bots. So the nest step that you should take is enable Spam Assassin in your cPanel to take care of spam for you. You can easily find this settings in your cPanel >> Mail >> Spam Assassin.

It is also a good idea to actually set up a Discard message whenever an email is sent to your domain to any non-existent email address. Also this option can be easily set by simply going to cPanel >> Mail >> Forwarders >> Add Forwarder. Now click on 'Discard with Error to Sender', and then click on Add Forwarder.

This is also a very important option to set up because if you didn't set up this, then all the emails sent on any non-existent email address on your domain, will be sent to a default address thus sending spam.

Monitor all your Data

In the cPanel, another useful and important setting is to Update your contact info anytime you want. You can also add a secondary email to get notifications and alerts. This can be done from Preferences >> Update Contact Info. This is known as an emergency email and it proves helpful if in case you lose access to your primary email address. All notifications that are sent to your primary email address, will be sent here as well.

Depending on the web hosting company you choose, you get many monitoring that notify you when you almost reach your limits, load time, bandwidth, downtime and more. Such data can really prove to be valuable to a webmaster.

Conclusion

After getting a custom domain and setting up a web host, setting up your cPanel and getting along with it is the most important step. You just need to know the basics and then there's no rocket science involved in it after that. Then you can learn all of it along the way. All you need to make sure is that you don't play with your databases and stuff and delete them accidentally thus sending your site back into the Stone age! Keep yourself limited to all the other features except databases, and just explore all the features at your disposal. I thought this post was important. A big surprise awaits all you MBT readers! Cheers :)

Fix Duplicate Meta Description Error in Posts and Homepage

Duplicate Meta DescriptionsAlhamdulilah I am back to work and free from those terrible exams. I am calling them terrible because they really were! :P Just like the new errors in Blogger appearing everyday, it has become difficult to find and fix all of them but this is error is a one that was causing issues for over a year and every blogger was scratching his head that why was Blogger showing not one but two meta descriptions both on the homepage and posts. Google Webmaster Tools had also been showing duplicate meta description error for blogger Homepage and individual post pages. Simply go to your blog and press CTRL + U to open your blog's source file and then you will find two meta descriptions for the same page. One somewhere below the <head> tag and one just above <title> tag. This problem of the double occurrence of the meta tags started just last year when Blogger introduced Search Preferences so that bloggers could add a dynamic description to every post that they publish. This option is present in Blogger's Post Editor named as "Search Description".

Credits

This problem was fixed some days back by my friend Mohammad who is one of the best bloggers and blogs at MyBloggerTricks. All credits are owned by him. If you wish to share this tutorial, then kindly link back to him and this page.

Fix Duplicate Meta Description Error

Last month we shared with you guys the codes that will make the dynamic search descriptions option should be installed even in custom template. But if you are not using that code, then its extremely easy to fix the description error. If in case you haven't added the code to your template, then you may simply do so by just adding the code that I will share in today's tutorial.
Just follow these simple steps:
  1. Go To Blogger > Template
  2. Backup your template.
  3. Click the Edit HTML button.
  4. Search for the following code:
<b:if cond='data:blog.metaDescription != &quot;&quot;'>
  <meta expr:content='data:blog.metaDescription' name='description'/>
</b:if>

Note: If you don't find the above code, then just relax and simply follow step 5

     5.  Now replace the above code with following chunk of codes:

<b:if cond='data:blog.url != data:blog.homepageUrl'>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;item&quot;'>
<b:if cond='data:blog.metaDescription != &quot;&quot;'>
  <meta expr:content='data:blog.metaDescription' name='description'/>
</b:if>
</b:if>
</b:if>

Note: Those who couldn't find the code in step 4, don't worry and simply copy the above code (in step 5) and paste it just below <head> tag.
  • The purple code will disable duplicate occurrences of the descriptions on homepage.
  • The green code will disable duplicate occurrences on of the descriptions on Post Pages.
     6.  Save your template and you are all done!

Now visit your homepage or any post page and click CTRL + U to check its source file. You will find only one occurrence of meta description. :)

Need help?

I hope this improvement of the template of your blog will further SEO optimize your template structure and will help search robots to easily better index and crawl all your content. Please just let me know if you needed any help. Peace and blessings buddies :)

Fix for Copied Text ending with #sthash
I know I am a little late for this post but due to exams it has been difficult to update you guys. Recently many of my friends and readers were complaining that copying text from many Blogger and WordPress blogs was resulting some text ending "- See more at:" string followed by a unique #hashtag appended to the URL of the page. I found the same problem in this blog. Many readers were complaining that the tutorials were no longer working. After inquiring this problem, I came to the conclusion that this problem is occurring because of the latest integration of the CopynShare addon of ShareThis plugin in its website. So this has affected any Blogger who might be using any widget powered by ShareThis. Even if you are using our Floating Share bar, then you must also be experiencing the same problem. Just follow this simple tutorial to uninstall the CopyNshare widget from your wordpress or blogger blog.

What is CopyNshare?

Just like Tynt Tool that tracks all the social activity that occurs when visitors are on your site, ShareThis team invented a new widget CopyNShare using which you can track each and every piece of text that users copy from your website URL or content. Blogger domains copied were ending with #sthash and some random extension like dpuf or dpbs

Note: I have updated the Floating bar widget and all plugins that needed an update.

Uninstall CopyNShare in Blogger

In order to keep using ShareThis sharing counters but deactivate the tracking feature then you must follow these extremely easy steps:
  1. Go To Blogger > Template
  2. Backup your template
  3. Tick the box "Expand widgets templates"
  4. Search for the following similar code:
    <script type='text/javascript'>stLight.options({publisher: "xxxxxxxxxxx-xx-xxxx"});</script>

or simply find this little piece of code:

    stLight.options

Now replace this entire script with the following code:

    <script type='text/javascript'>stLight.options({onhover:false , doNotHash: true, doNotCopy: true, hashAddressBar: false});</script>

       5.  Save your template and you are all done!

Now your readers can easily copy content from your blog.

    Uninstall CopyNShare in WordPress

In wordpress the steps are much easier as compared to blogger
    1. Go To Plugins > ShareThis
    2. Simply uncheck the option that says "Enable CopyNShare Beta"
    copyNshare settings

    How does this works?

In the above script for ShareThis light options, what I did was simply insert some variables told by ShareThis itself to stop this widget in sites which don't want to use it. They are:
    1. doNotHash: true
    2. doNotCopy: true
    3. hashAddressBar: false
    • doNotHash: I have set this variable to true so that no attribution link would be added to the text copied from your blog.
    • doNotCopy: This variable if set to true disables the pasting of the See more #hash tag "See more: yourURL.com#SThashtag" when a user copies and then pastes text anywhere.
    • hashAddressBar: This variable if set to false will deactivate the URL copying tracking.
This is as simple as that. If you need more help then don't hesitate to let me know. Apologies for the inconvenience caused to all our readers. Guys I am extremely busy these days but I had to publish a fix to this uninvited feature in order to make things more comfortable for you people. Peace and blessings pals :)

3 Reasons Why Your PageRank is not Increasing!

Why PageRank not increasing?Actually PageRank is no more than just a link analysis algorithm introduced and used by Google. It was introduced by Google in 1998 when Larry Page and Sergey brin first brought their paper formula to public. The PageRank algorithm scales sites between values starting from 0 to 10. It is really a very effective Page Popularity or Page Ranking algorithm that keeps track of all incoming and outgoing links to and from a page. It is based only and only on the quality and not quantity of sites' linking to one site. Google PageRank is the most popular algorithm amongst the bloggers and webmasters is it has always remained a very hot topic in all SEO forums and blogs. The algorithm is updated three-four times a year. The most recent PageRank update was in February 4th 2013. Whenever I inform my readers about PageRank Algorithm update, many of them cheer on hearing the news while many of them get demotivated. So in the last post of this series, we will learn the actual technical reasons of why some of the pages rank higher in this algorithm with just few links while others still remain where they are despite of having several incoming links.
Note: This is part 4 our our series on PageRank and Alexa Rank. We highly recommend that you read this series sequentially. If you have not read the previous parts then you may do so for better understanding of the topic.

    PageRank and Alexa Rank Series
Part4: 3 Reasons Why Your PageRank is not Increasing!

Is Google PageRank Dependent on Incoming Links or Not?

The answer is a direct NO! Yes PageRank is scaled on the number of dofollow links that point to your site or blog but if the quantity of the links were the only source to achieve high a PR, then why does PageRank actually drop for some? Why do blogs with just few links rank higher than those with several inbound links? You should understand that the Google PageRank algorithm is based not only on the quantity of  links towards a blog. Google PR robots look carefully at three factors,
    • Significance of Incoming links
    • Balance Between Incoming and Outgoing links
    • Use of your Current PageRank
Now for better understanding, lets discuss all these three phrases one by one.
    1. Significance of Incoming Links
Google spiders scan the World Wide Web in every fraction of a second and crawl and index pages continuously present in its databases. It always hunts for quality websites with good, helpful and unique content and then categorize them individually from those blogs, websites or forums that always publish poor content, old and outdated stories and violate Google policies and copyrights. When sites with rich authority in the eyes of Google and those with PR greater than 2 link to your blog, your blog starts attracting Google spiders (robots) and then forces them to pay you proper respect because you have been recommended by a blog that has already won reputation in the eyes of Google and has a lot of respect of itself for the past 3 months and above. So significance of links is actually referring to whether sites that link to you do have some good PR or not. As I mentioned above, PR is based only and only on the quality and not quantity of links. Can there really be a difference in who is linking to you? Yes there lies a great gap. I have made a table to make you better understand. Follow the table below,

Please Note: Take for granted that your site has a PR 0.0 and your then gradually it starts receiving links from one single site. I repeat, the inbound links that are mentioned here are only from one single site and not from several! See how these can effect your PageRank.

Note: The following data is based on my blogging experience and are mere but close assumptions.

    Website's/Blog's PageRank Links Impact
PR 0.0 50 or above links required to earn a PR1 or maybe PR0.
PR 1.0 About 5-10 links from here can easily earn you a PR 1.0
PR 2.0 One Link can Earn you a PR1.
Greater than 5 Links Can earn you a PR2
PR 3.0 One Link can Earn you PR 1 or PR2.
Greater than 5 Links Can earn you PR3
PR 4.0 One link can earn you PR2
5 Links Will Earn you PR3
15 or above links will Earn you PR4
PR 5.0 One Link can earn you PR2 or PR3
5 Links Will Earn you PR4
Not sure about PR5 and PR6
PR 6.0 One Link can earn you PR3
    Two Links PR4
Greater than 10 Links Can earn you PR5
    Not sure about PR6

I have mentioned the impact of 10 links only for PR6. I really don't know the intensity of impact at higher PR's for such numbers of link density.

So if your fellow blogger received a PageRank increase with just one link and you could not receive it with even 20 or above links, then check to see if your incoming links are rich and have authority already in the eyes of Google. This is one reason why some rank high while others don't!
    2. Balance Between Incoming and Outgoing links
Always make sure to only link to external sites when needed. Actually when you link external sites, you are indirectly sharing your PR with that site. Linking to low quality websites or blogs often effects your PR. Of course your outgoing links will always be greater than your incoming links but it is very important to keep the ratio between them as low as possible. This is indeed one of the best optimization strategies and is highly recommended.

For instance if your incoming links are 100 and then your outgoing links are more than 10,000, then the chances of a PR drop are certain. There is one way to keep the ratio as low as possible. You can simply tag the external links as nofollow. The nofollow tag will only allow your readers to visit that link but will tell Google spiders not to craw the link.
    3. Use of your Current PageRank
    link selling
Many people ask this question that even when they have done nothing wrong, their PR has dropped. Now this phrase has a complete different meaning. So this phase will answer that question.

You will loose your PageRank when you disobey the rules set by the Google PageRank Team. It is been clearly mentioned several times by Matt Cutts The Head of Google Web Spam Team, that PageRank should never be misused. By misusing, he means selling links on your website to many link builders. When you link to a site, you recommend a website to Google and doing that just for the sake of money and not because of quality content, will disturb the whole search results and quality content will rank higher lower. When you receive a PR4 or above, many webmasters will contact you and offer you money to add their link to one of the high ranked pages of your blog. They will offer you as high as $200 per link. If people commit this crime, then upon next crawl of that page, Google detects that a new irrelevant link has been added which was previously not present and then the robot finally comes to a conclusion "Link Sell Detected!"  Thus on next update you loose your hard earned PR.

    Conclusion

Do not worry about PageRank as you should be about your Alexa Rank. Give more value to your readership and social rankings. For the first year of your blogging, pay less attention to revenue and more to getting good readership and social rankings. I hope this little info proves helpful in clarifying all the technical reasons behind PageRank drop and rise of certain blogs or sites. Wish to see you all rejoicing on next PageRank update probably on June 28 - July 1st Week. If you want to know the PageRank update Schedule the read this post:

Killer Tips to Improve Alexa Rank of your Blog!

Killer Tips to Increase Alexa Rank Alexa Internet, Inc. is a subsidiary company of the Amazon.com. Alexa collects data from all over the Internet via its toolbar which is installed on millions of PCs globally. The Alexa toolbar collects data on the user's browsing behavior and then transmits all of it to the main website, where it is stored and then carefully analyzed, forming the basis for the company's web traffic reporting. As of 2013, Alexa provides Traffic Rank, Global Traffic Rank, Reach, Pageviews, Bounce %, Load Time rankings and other information on more than 30 million websites. Blogging is one of the most popular environments where anyone can easily steal out a huge amount of traffic by sharing quality content and easily and quickly decrease your Alexa Rank (Alexa works like the lower the better). This post can turn out to be the biggest utopia in your whole blogging business if you apply the points here seriously for at least six months!
    PageRank and Alexa Rank Series
Part3: Killer Tips to Improve Alexa Rank of your Blog!
Yes I know six months may seem a big deal but frankly speaking about it, I have seen that many sites don’t even get under 100K in more than 100 months too! The only reason behind this is that they actually don't know the secrets behind how to increase Alexa. I spent a lot of time in crafting this great post so I hope you will read it :)

    What Alexa Actually Is?

Alexa is a Web Information Company. It's full name is Alexa Internet, Inc. It is a subsidiary company of the Amazon.com. It keeps record of each and every webpage available on the whole internet! Alexa indexes new sites within a month or so, so we wouldn't consider this indexing period. We would start from the time when your ranks starts showing a numerical number. Usually it starts from 10 Million. I am not exactly sure about it but I am saying this because mine started from 10 Million. Alexa collects all the data it needs via their Alexa toolbar from all over the Internet which once installed on the users' computer, collects the data on users' browsing behavior and then transmits it to the website, where it is stored and analyzed, forming the basis for the company's web traffic reporting. While providing all the traffic insights about a website, Alexa claims that 6 million people visit its website monthly.

Why Should You Care About It?

Alexa, a really big factor to be consider for getting sponsors for your blog. Most advertisers first go for Alexa to provide direct advertisements. Alexa is the only and only important thing after you have both quality content and Traffic. Astonishingly both traffic and content are independent of solely rankings but depend a lot on what you publish.

Advertisers look for four things while buying an ad spot,
    1. Readership (Subscribers)
    2. Traffic
    3. Alexa
    4. Only 10% Advertisers look for PageRank.

    How To Improve Alexa Rank?

I know first you would want to check MBT's Alexa Rank to see if it is below 100k and this is a valid post :P. But believe me the points presented here are personally tested by me on this blog and these have helped to get the Alexa of MBT from 624k to 360k in just a week! So below are some of the secrets that you must know if your serious about improving Alexa and getting sponsors for your blog.
    1. Frequent Posting & Regularly Updating your Blog
    Post Frequently

If you are serious about your Alexa Rank and want to earn a hell lot of money then your authority tool should be your post frequency. Because the more you write quality, the more you receive traffic. If you are destroying your precious hours in looking for exchanging links and not posting consistently, then you are close to ending your blogging career. When you post more, your Alexa improves and when you stop posting or post randomly in irregular way then your Alexa will rapidly shoot up (Loose rank)

But again make sure that when we talk posting regularly, its not about simply throwing out a post. You will have to consider quality also if you want to attract robots for traffic and Alexa. Always make sure that the post which you've written, provides value to the reader and also with proper search engine optimization done. Thus you would increase your traffic considerably with in 3-6 months period.

    2. Consider Post Publishing Timings
2 Tips To Improve Your Blog Alexa Rank By 2 Lakh In 1 Month

Alexa rank will never improve until you don't post consistently but it also won't improve until you don't consider post timings. Search spiders carefully record how often and how much you update your blog and your update schedule sets a schedule for Search engine crawlers. If you post constantly for a week then nothing for the next week, then you will really confuse search robots and will get nothing in return from them. If you really think that this way you will get a good Alexa rank, then I guess you should re-plan your traffic campaign.

I first made this same mistake. The very next day, as you all experienced, I started publishing posts at or after 12am (Pakistan standard time), that makes 2pm at US (where most of our traffic comes from). This is often the time when most of the people are active and bound to come by your blog.

So the factual point is that post frequency is the actual baseline, but you should think again before neglecting post publishing timings.
    3. Stop Plagiarism
    Don't Copy and Stop Plagiarism

Just like Google, Alexa is also very strict against plagiarism. So, never ever try to copy any post or article from another site. Create your own, unique content so that the people and search engines would love it. If you are copying form another blog, then you are just wasting your time, no more! Original content always gets on top! Never underestimate the robots of Alexa as they are as much smart as Google's and can detect copied content. Your Alexa may even fall bad if you would copy content of others.
    4. Create Quality Content
    quality content

Not only Google, but quality is also a very sensitive issue with Alexa. The aim of the search engine is to return the best possible search results. And if a website falls short of the recommended quality guidelines, then it will be penalized sooner or later. If you will not receive good traffic, then you will not get Alexa. And even will good traffic, Alexa will not also improve until you don't have quality content.
    5. Go Social
    Go social

Social Media interaction of your site is also considered as a very important factor for improving your Alexa rank. Try to get active on popular social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Digg, StumbleUpon and so on. Try to increase your fan following as much as you can, and try to interact with many people. So get into social media and try to squeeze out traffic to get your best Alexa! The most affecting social media are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, del.icio.us and myspace.
    6. Claim your website on Alexa
Yeah this may sound a little weird at first but actually claiming your site on Alexa helps Alexa to understand and rank it better. Also it is not very hard claiming your site on Alexa and hardly takes minutes. Just follow the simple steps below:
      1. Go to Alexa
      2. Type in your Domain in the box and click on "Claim Your Site"
      3. Now, it will ask for plans. Select free one and click Signup.
      4. Now, you would be prompted to sign up to claim your site.
      5. Simply click on Claim and signup an account. Now, after signing, on the right side you will see a meta tag similar to this one : <meta content='VHjyfLSjILCAyknu7IrTawegDm0' name='alexaVerifyID'/>. Simply add it below the <head> tag.
      6. Then Click on Verify My ID.
      7. You have successfully claimed your site!
      7. Install Alexa Toolbar and encourage your visitors to do so!
The whole Alexa is an algorithm which is based on the use of Alexa toolbar. Install the toolbar on your browser. As the toolbar makes the foundation of the website's traffic reporting, it will greatly affect your Alexa rank. The Alexa toolbar collects data on the user's browsing behavior and then transmits all of it to the main website, where it is stored and then carefully analyzed, forming the basis for the company's web traffic reporting. If you have Alexa toolbar installed right now while reading this post, then indirectly you are actually benefiting me a lot by telling the Alexa robots that "Hey I really like MBT Please rank it more higher!" and when more and more people visit MBT provided that they have Alexa toolbar installed, I rank higher and higher. You can easily download the toolbar. Also encourage and suggest your readers to download and install the Alexa toolbar.
      8. Use Alexa Widget
This a working trick actually told by Alexa itself! It tremendously affects your Alexa rank and really helps a lot to decrease (improve) your rank. Alexa counts the hits which they receive on their servers. If you would install their widget on your site, then this would literally tell Alexa how much hits you receive which would really improve your rank! Alexa provides different types of traffic statics buttons for your blog. You can select any one of them. To install the widget, follow these simple steps:
        1. Get to your site’s information page.
        2. Now, click on Get Widgets on the sidebar.
        3. Select your appropriate widget and click on Build Widget
        4. Now, copy the coding and paste it in your blog.

          The Do's and Don'ts

          The Do's
          • Publish posts consistently but never publish posts with no consideration of quality.
          • Always consider post timings because without them, your post frequency is nothing.
          • Create unique, quality and useful content for your users.
          • Claim your site on Alexa and use their toolbar and widget and recommend your readers to do so.
          • Get active on Social Media.
          • Get more visitors on your blog especially from the Blogging community because there is a better chance that they might have Alexa toolbar already installed in their browsers.
          The Don'ts
          • Don't copy and stop plagiarism.
          • Avoid throwing out posts at random times and with no consideration of quality.
          • AVOID using bots or any other automated methods because you will lose all your rankings easily if Alexa ever finds out!
I hope that you would have read this whole post. Just remember never to use bots, never to write useless posts and never copy and violate copyrights. Try to get active on social media, use Alexa's toolbar and widget and always consider posting timings. I hope this little experience of mine will really help you get your blog's Alexa rank to the best. I have written this post in great hurry so if any mistakes are there then please forgive me. I will surely publish the last post of the series as soon as time allows. Peace and Blessings to all! :)
