Feedburner Feed Count Goes Zero Again - API Error! March 21, 2013

UPDATE: After 3 days the problem has been resolved by Google and now everything is working fine.

FeedCount goes zero again!
The main site of feedburner and their FeedCount chicklet is displaying zero subscribers for everyone since 18 March 2013. This error has occurred two times before, first on Dec 3, 2011 and then 9 months later on Sep 25, 2012. I have just seen it right now. I investigated a lot about this error but neither found any post nor any news from Google so I decided to write a post on it. Not only the chicklet but the problem also exists when you check the Stats Dashboard in Feedburner. When you log into your account and go to the dashboard, it will also show zero "0" subscribers with no (zero) reachability.

The bad new is that 3 days have passed and the developers at Google haven't even informed everyone about this error in feedburner count chicklet and dashboard stats and still there is no update from them.

This same problem had occurred two times back in the year 2011 on March 13th and in 2012 on September 25th. It took then almost six days to resolve the error the first time. This is what they said:

Thursday, March 17, 2011
Issue: We have been encountering difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing March 13th and 16th, 2011. We are currently working to resolve the issue.
Update (8:00am PST 19-Mar): Stats production issues have been resolved and both of the missing days restored.

Then on the second issue this is what they replied,

Friday, September 21, 2012
Issue: We have been encountering difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing Sept 19th and 20th, 2012. We are currently working to resolve the issue.

What Should you now do?

Don't panic! You haven't lost your hard earned loyal Subscribers. Feedburner is just having a problem in reporting them to you. Due to some reasons, technical errors such as these are quite obvious for large databases just like Feedburner. But it is a good idea to Backup you Feedburner Subscribers List. Hopefully it will take some days to resolve the error.

I would advise all of you guys to remove the Count Widget temporarily just to avoid leaving a negative impression on new visitors and you can again add it when the issue is resolved. Otherwise it will discourage readers from subscribing because visitors nowadays mostly judge a blog's reputation by its readership.

Was this info Helpful?

Many of our readers were worried their subscribers so I hope this post will make things clear. But even still your confused, then you are welcomed to post any query.
Peace be upon all of you :)
